Hongwei renewed its Global Recycled Standard certification in February 2026, transitioning from Version 3.0 to Version 4.0. While the core commitment — verified recycled content with responsible chain-of-custody controls — remains unchanged, Version 4.0 introduced several documentation and traceability requirements that affect how we issue transaction certificates to buyers.

The most significant change for buyers is the shift to digital transaction certificates (TCs) issued through the TextileExchange platform rather than PDF documents. TCs are now generated and verified online, which means buyers need a TextileExchange account to access and validate them. Brands that have been storing TCs as static PDFs in their compliance systems will need to update their processes. We will provide the relevant TC reference numbers at point of invoice and can assist any buyer whose compliance team needs guidance on the verification workflow.

For buyers who only require GRS-certified components for specific product lines, the scope of certification is visible on our certificate record. Products outside the certification scope (conventional materials without recycled content claim) are clearly separated and can be ordered without requiring TC documentation. If you are unsure which of your current programmes fall within the certified scope, contact your account manager and we will provide a product-by-product breakdown.
